Blake Carter
Blake Carter MFA, DCTP, has had three careers. He began acting at the age of eight in Victoria B.C. When he was nineteen he moved to London, England where he trained for three years at The Webber-Douglas Academy of Dramatic Art. He worked as a professional actor in Britain until 1979.
The summer of 1979, he moved to Toronto. In September of 1980 he began studying at York University and in 1982 he received his MFA (Master's of Fine Art). He continued working as a professional actor until 1984. In 1984 he left the theatre and began working in restaurant management.
In September of 1993 Blake began his training at The Centre for Training in Psychotherapy (CTP Toronto). Blake graduated from the CTP program in 2000 and has been working as a psychotherapist ever since, both in Ontario and in British Columbia. Blake has studied Emotionally Focused Therapy for couples with Janet Cleghorn and also completed a two-year teacher's training program in Classical Yoga at The Vidya Institute and is now a certified yoga instructor. Blake works with individuals, couples and groups in a full time psychotherapy practice.
Blake joined the OPC Program as Adjunct Faculty in September 2006.
